And They're Off

For the 2016 MLA Conference our informationist are traveling to Toronto, Canada.

This year’s conference will be sort of special, because it will be held conjointly with the Canadian Health Libraries Association and the International Clinical Librarians Conference. The prevailing theme for the conference is “Mosaic: Be Part of the Big Picture!”

The Welch Medical Library will be well represented at this year’s conference, for our esteemed leader and Director, Anne Seymour is the Co-Chair of this event. Blair Anton, our Associate Director of Informationist Services, will receive and accept the prestigious Estelle Brodman Award for the Academic Medical Librarian of the Year.

The Estelle Brodman Award- “recognizes a mid-career academic medical librarian who demonstrates significant achievement, the potential for leadership, and continuing excellence and is only awarded in years when an appropriate candidate can be identified.”  I will emphasize the phrase “Only when an appropriate candidate can be identified” Yes, the Welch Library is very proud indeed of Ms. Anton.

There will be various workshops and presentations that our informationist will be participating, and we look forward to hearing and receiving more details. So Good Luck and Safe Travels.
