Items For Your Consideration

Here are several items for your consideration, my friends.

First up, Johns Hopkins will celebrate the 33rd Annual Martin Luther King Commemorative event in Turner Auditorium today at noon. This is always a wonderful time to congregate and hear words of fellowship, faith and activism. This year speaker Morris Dees, Co-Founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, is sure to continue this tradition. Glancing at the Community Service Award recipients below, you can almost feel the sense of involvement and purpose this event inspires.

And on a slightly different note…..

Ahhhhhh Winter. It’s comes in like a mighty lion. Hear the roar of freezing weather, traffic jams and slippery streets. It can feel as though our first priority is to come in out of the cold. Winter can force even the strongest among us to hunker down and surrender to the warm and toasty insides of our humble abodes. However, the Hopkins Graduate Representative Organization (GRO) has the perfect solution. The GRO has compiled a list of places to go and things to do in Baltimore. If you click on any link, you can get a great “landscape” of what’s available --- and with all the categories you’re sure to impress your friends and family with your newfound Baltimore “street cred.”  Just look at what’s up with Dance, Movement and Movies. Need some dining and drinking tips? Take your pick. Don’t let winter dictate its demands --- take the bull by the horns and go exploring.
