Save The Dates For October

October has more than Halloween, my friends. There are so many announcements, press releases and events that come from Johns Hopkins (Medical campus and University) on a daily basis, we just didn’t want you to overlook something that may have already showed up in your inbox. Perhaps you were Pre-occupied with the Ravens beatdown of the Carolina Kittycats. (Excuse me, I see their real name is "Carolina PANTHERS".

So we’re passing along several upcoming events of note. First up is the second lecture in the 2014–2015 series on research integrity on Thursday, Oct. 9, at noon in the Wood Basic Science Building Auditorium on the East Baltimore campus. The lecture will be simulcast to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s Carroll Auditorium. Scott Zeger, professor in the Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Biostatistics and director of Hopkins inHealth. Complete information on the lecture series can be found on the Dean’s Research Integrity Lectures website. Direct any questions you may have to integrity@jhmi.edu.

You may register for this lecture here or visit myLearning in the Johns Hopkins portal and look for “Responsible Conduct of Research,” located under “Compliance” in the course catalog.

On October 11th we celebrate the “6th Annual President’s Day of Service” (PDOS).

Watch highlights from last year’s Day of Sevice. You can read a bit more here about the PDOS. Finally, on October 11th (guess you can double the fun on the 11th), we have the Henrietta Laks Memorial Lecture.

If Henrietta Laks doesn’t quite ring a bell, then here’s an introduction. Also, the New York Times provides a recent update about her legacy.

Take a minute to mark your calendars or input it all into a gadget of your choice.
